I’m an acrylic painter living in Massachusetts. I was born in New Zealand, but have lived in the United States for the last 20 years. Art has always played a role in my life. I obtained an Associates Degree in Fine Art in 2005, and have never looked back. I have painted many commissioned works of pets, places, and people, and have recently taken an interest in classic car paintings.
Creating art is my passion. My love of light and color deeply influences my work. I’m captivated by the way light plays across a surface, how it affects color and shape, and can transform something ordinary into the extraordinary. Whether it’s dappled sunlight across the clapboard siding of a New England house, the soft glow of candlelight on a tablecloth, or the gleam of light on the chromed bumper of a classic car, I find joy in interpreting these moments with paint. I also love bold, saturated color. I start every painting with a red/orange under-painting to infuse warmth, and layer the paint from dark to light, to create a sense of depth and solidity. For me, color and light add drama and richness to my work.
